Preparing for the ‘Triple Threat’ as RSV, COVID-19, and the Flu Season Approach

As the winter season approach, health officials are warning of a potential “triple threat” as the flu season coincides with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and an increase in RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) cases.

RSV is a common respiratory virus that typically affects infants and young children, but can also affect adults, especially those with weakened immune systems. It can cause symptoms similar to the flu, including fever, coughing, and difficulty breathing.

The flu and COVID-19 are also similar in that they are both respiratory illnesses, and can cause similar symptoms. This makes it difficult to distinguish between the two without testing, and increases the risk of misdiagnosis and complications.
